About Judy Collins:
Judy Collins is best known for her remarkable singing career, with more than 40 albums and several Grammy nominations to her credit. She is also the author of several works of fiction and nonfiction. Her 2003 book, Sanity & Grace: A Journey of Suicide, Survival, and Strength explores how her life changed in January 1992 when her only son, Clark Taylor, committed suicide.
Collins, a recovering alcoholic herself, is honest about the fact that she abused alcohol and struggled with depression throughout the childhood of her son Clark. He struggled with drugs and alcohol throughout his adolescence and early adulthood. Before his suicide, he relapsed into alcohol use after seven years of sobriety.
When Clark died at age 33, he left behind a wife and four-year-old daughter.

Day One is thrilled to announce that acclaimed singer & songwriter, Judy Collins, will be speaking at the Day One Annual Celebration on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Ms. Collins will help us celebrate our successes as an agency over the past year and renew our commitment to those who suffer from the ills of substance abuse. Most importantly, she will call us to remember that the issue of substance abuse is a challenge that needs to be addressed community-wide.
Her powerful story of her own recovery and the tragic story of her son who lost his life to the destruction of substance abuse will be shared through her words and her songs.

Gold Sponsorship - $5,000 - Your business logo will be highlighted in our Maine Sunday Telegram advertisement prior to the event and your advertisement will appear on the inside first page cover of the program book. You will receive tickets for eight guests.
Silver Sponsorship - $2,500 - Your business logo will be included in our newspaper advertisement prior to the event and your advertisement will appear on either an inside cover of the program book or on the fold. You will receive tickets for eight guests.
Bronze Sponsorship - $1,000 - Your business will be listed as a Day One sponsor in our newspaper advertisement prior to the event and your full page advertisement will be in the program book. You will receive tickets for eight guests.
