Anna Marie “Patty” Duke, born December 14, 1946 is perhaps best known for her portrayal of identical cousins Cathy and Patty Lane in “The Patty Duke Show” and as Helen Keller in “The Miracle Worker”. By going public about her diagnosis of bipolar disorder, Ms. Duke contributed to its de-stigmatization. She is a recovering substance abuser and has become an activist for mental health causes. We are honored to share her inspiring story.
